Introducing the SXSW EDU Online Experience with Host Kari Byron

This year, exclusively on the SXSW EDU Channel, online attendees will be able to watch SXSW EDU live alongside our host, Kari Byron. Starting Monday, March 7 through Thursday, March 10, the SXSW EDU Channel will broadcast live video content for SXSW EDU Online pass holders featuring the daily keynote speakers, featured sessions, and exclusive interviews in the SXSW EDU Live Studio.

For over a decade Kari Byron has been a strong presence in the world of reality-based science and travel television. She is best known as a host on Discovery Channel’s Mythbusters but has gone on to host and produce shows spanning several networks; Head Rush, Punkin Chunkin, LDRS, Thrill Factor, Strange Trips, America Declassified, The White Rabbit Project, Positive Energy and Crash Test World. For 2022, Kari will be hosting interviews in between our scheduled programming with key speakers and participants!

Live Programming

The SXSW EDU online experience includes a lineup of live programming consisting of four keynote sessions, 14 featured sessions, and two competitions, all of which will also be available for on-demand viewing starting the day after the session occurs. As the highlight of our Online program, attendees will be able to watch, ask questions, and discuss with other registrants as they view programming live.

Video On Demand (VOD) Programming

In addition to all the great programming Online pass holders can participate in live, there is a plethora of on-demand content available for next-day viewing with exclusive access after the event. Films can be screened during their exclusive 48 hours online viewing window starting the day after their in-person screening. All Performances and 60+ sessions will also be available the next day as VOD, and as well as access to hundreds of audio session recordings across 11 thematic tracks.
