Launch Startup Competition

The Launch startup competition is an opportunity for early-stage companies seeking market exposure, investment, and strategic partnerships to showcase their innovative products. Selected companies will pitch in front of a jury of industry experts and educators, as well as a live audience at SXSW EDU 2019.

Learn by Design Competition

The Learn by Design competition celebrates the collaboration of designers and educators in the pursuit of design-based solutions to challenges within education. The competition showcases projects focused on the design of physical space and the potential it has to improve learning outcomes.

SXSW EDU celebrates the power of film to explore critical topics and issues impacting education with screenings and Q&A discussions. Film selections are community driven, just like SXSW EDU session content. Over the years, filmmakers, producers and community members have submitted many great films for consideration to screen at the March event.

Marketing Opportunties



The SXSW EDU Expo captures the energy and imagination of the future of learning in one dynamic space featuring curated programming and a diverse range of exhibitors.

The Playground returns for the seventh year, now as a key component of the broader Expo. The interactive space showcases new strategies to activate students’ learning and features a collaborative stage with Hands On and Talk programming. Qualified organizations can apply for a display to demo their activities through the Playground application.

Become a Mentor

The mentor program facilitates purpose-driven, one-on-one connections between experienced professionals and attendees.

Meet Up

Meet ups are topic-focused, networking events selected through the PanelPicker process, which give communities at SXSW EDU the chance to connect with others who share similar passions or interests.
