SXSW EDU was created on the foundation of inclusive education, creating spaces for diverse perspectives, and embracing the experiences of all communities. This March, we are extremely excited to have a variety of programming that will foster important conversations within the LGBTQIA+ community. With a focus on empowering voices often marginalized in education spaces, SXSW EDU welcomes all to participate in a space where we can celebrate all gender identities and sexual orientations, while providing a platform for meaningful discussion.

Join experts and advocates at the Advocate Educator Meet Up: Supporting Trans Youth to discuss how to support transgender and non-binary youth in and out of the classroom.

For insight on drag as an intersectional feminist practice, hear from the drag community at the Panel Drag Story Hour: An Intersectional Feminist Practice.

Add the Podcast Horizons: Banning LGBTQ Education Means Banning LGBTQ Educators to your schedule to listen to experts discuss the drastic implications that both teachers and the youth face from the growing effort to push LGBTQ+ educators back into the closet.

Join an author, student advocate, librarian, and community organizer for an examination of how censorship harms communities and threatens democratic principles in the Panel How to Be a Freedom Fighter.

Attend the Conversation Passion to Action: Supporting LGBTQ+ Students in the CCCs to explore effective strategies and action plans to uphold inclusive and equitable learning environments which address challenges of intersecting identities.
