We're thrilled to introduce a brand-new component to our film program, specifically designed to celebrate emerging talent! The SXSW EDU Texas High School Shorts program is dedicated to highlighting the incredible learning and perspectives of aspiring student filmmakers and storytellers.
Previously facilitated by the SXSW Film & TV team, this program invites students who will be enrolled in a Texas high school as of March 9, 2026, to submit their work.
- Film Length: Maximum of five (5) minutes.
- Genres Welcome: We accept narrative, documentary, and animated shorts.
- Subject Matter: Any topic is welcome. Your film does not need to focus on education issues.
Application Opens: November 3, 2025
Application Closes: December 15, 2025
