March 9-12, 2015 • Austin, Texas
PanelPicker is an innovative online tool developed to enhance community participation in SXSWedu. By allowing the public to submit, review, comment and vote on session proposals, the two-step process empowers SXSWedu stakeholders to have a significant voice in the programming that will take place at SXSWedu, March 3-6, 2014 in Austin, Texas.
How it Works
The Submission Stage
During this time period the community is invited to enter session proposals for the 2014 SXSWedu Conference & Festival. The ideas, speakers and topics proposed during this time will help inform a large portion of the conference programming at the event.
The Voting Stage
Following the submission process, the community will have the opportunity to browse all of the ideas submitted, vote for the ideas they think should be represented at the March event and leave constructive comments for the organizer of the session.
The Selection Process
Public voting from the community accounts for 30% of the decision making process. Input from the Advisory Board, which accounts for 40% of the decision and SXSWedu staff evaluations, accounting for 30%, also influence the final decision.
