Getting to Austin

Located in the heart of Texas, Austin is easily accessible by highway from Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and other major cities.

For international and domestic air travel, the Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) offers flights daily. Transportation is available to and from the airport by taxi, charter and public transportation.

Getting Around Downtown Austin

Once you arrive for SXSWedu, you can easily walk to and from each of the programming venues - the Austin Convention Center, the Hilton Austin Downtown and the JW Marriott.

Taxi Cabs
The following cab services operate in Austin and can be found circling the downtown area:

Taxi cabs can charge a night-time surcharge of $1 per person between the hours of 9pm to 4am authorized by the City of Austin.

Pedicabs are a common sight in downtown Austin and operate for a pre-negotiated tip. Flag one down for shorter trips between SXSWedu venues.

Downtown Parking
Parking around downtown Austin ranges in price and availability. Arriving early in the day is the best bet to secure a spot. Parking locations can be found on the City of Austin’s website.

The Austin Convention Center has two parking garages, located at 2nd & Brazos and 5th & Red River. See their website for more information and pricing details.

Austin’s bike-share system, B-cycle, features over 40 pick up and drop off stations conveniently located throughout the downtown area. Day access passes are available at each station; all you need is a credit card.
